In spite of all the controversy and strife in our world, regardless of the clashing opinions in today's religious wars, the focus of Christ still remains upon His Bride. It is our quest to turn our gaze toward Him.

Most of us sincerely love the Lord and are thankful for all He has done. However, too many are more comfortable celebrating what Jesus has done than accepting who He desires to be to us. We sing of His victories and teach of His mercies, yet rarely do we quiet our hearts and surrender to His presence. We want Him near enough to protect us but not so close that our consciousness is captured by His presence.

As awesome and liberating as it is to know what Jesus has done for us, until we actually surrender ourselves to Him, our religion will never be more than a "history lesson." Religion is not enough. It satisfies neither us nor Christ. Jesus wants to also know us...(more)

We would never expect to send a soldier into battle without a weapon and a measure of defense—our troops should have the opportunity to be equally prepared with the spiritual armament of the Word of God.

According to a statement on their website, Campus Crusade for Christ's Military Ministry has been assisting chaplains and commanders with caring for the spiritual well-being of troops and their families for more than four decades. (Photo: CCCI)

As part of these efforts to share the life-changing message of Salvation, Military Ministry is distributing Rapid Deployment Kits (RDKs) to soldiers both here at home and around the world.

RDKs consist of a Good News Translation New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs from the American Bible Society; the Our Daily Bread 90-day devotional by RBC, and the booklet Would You Like to Know God Personally, which shares the four spiritual principles for coming to know Jesus Christ.

MG (Ret.) Bob Dees, Executive Director of the Campus Crusade for Christ International Military Ministry, said, "We firmly believe that no U.S. Soldier should have to go in harm’s way without the Word of God…."

The website notes that about 1.9 million RDKs…have been distributed since September 2001.
